About Our Company
Exterstahl is one of the most successful and significant suppliers of steel sheets and plates in Central and Southeast Europe.
Since 1994, the name EXTERSTAHL has stood for the dependable supply of flat and long products in the steel sector. Following the year 2000, Exterstahl, which is independent of the steel industry, successfully developed from a pure trading company into a logistics center for the processing of steel coils.
The management of the privately-owned company is headquartered in the Upper Austrian steel city of Linz. Built in 2003, the Service Center is located in Krems on the Danube, at the intersection of Southeast and Northwest Europe. This location features a first-class, trimodal connection (water/rail/road).
Only steel coils of renowned and selected steelworks in the old and new EU Member States are processed on the basis of close, long-term relationships.
The SCC is specialized in the manufacturing of hot-rolled sheets and plates in all currently common grades. For special requirements, the non-adhesive scale is mechanically removed by means of brushes and then vacuumed away. The manufacturing program includes dimensions ranging from 2-15 mm thickness; further details can be found in the Products menu item.
In addition to Austria, the products are also sold in most of the neighboring countries; the export share lies at nearly 70 %.
Among our regular customers are well-known companies in the construction machinery, mechanical engineering, vehicle construction and boiler construction fields. Our list of customers has shown little fluctuation over the years.
In the sales area, middle-term and long-term general supply agreements are the rule; if requested by the customer, with a fixed annual price, or variable with quarterly, resp., half-year prices.
All of the coils are stored in the warehouse for quality reasons, and coils as well as sheets are gently handled with magnetic cranes.
The Exterstahl Company Group has a further, important location in Zagreb with the company Horex, which not only supplies the local market, but also customers in Hungary, Slovenia, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria and Bosnia.
Considerable capacities for the processing, storage and sale of steel products are available here.
All in all, besides the large outdoor storage areas, the Group has around 20,000 m2 of the most modern covered warehouses and production spaces equipped with efficient, state-of-the-art magnetic cranes at its disposal. Moreover, all of them feature first-class rail and road connections.
